If anything is true it’s that Arkansas weather is changeable. We wear both t-shirts and thermal underwear during the winter. We enjoy sun and rain, sometimes on the same day. We literally have had one day this winter where it was 76 degrees in the morning and by night it was in the teens. Talk about a change! Fortunately most of us watch the weather and try to prepare for those changes. Even when it’s sunny here we can take a quick look at the radar and see what kind of weather is approaching from the west. Unfortunately, if we listen to the weathermen, each one gives their version of what’s going to happen and gloom and doom seems to sell the best.
Oh beloved, this is a season of worship like no other. It’s that beautiful day just a few days from now that will be celebrated with love and good will that we are all focused on. There’s no way you can know today what the day will be like weather-wise.
Even the predictors get it wrong. But what you can know is that God loves you so much that He sent His Son as Savior of the world! You can know that although He was born a baby, things didn’t stay that way. And just as you may be facing hardships right now, things aren’t going to stay that way. Even if you’ve got a resident predictor in the form of friend or family who is spreading the gloom and doom of your situation, God has not left His throne. Jesus has not stopped being the Savior and Holy Spirit has never changed His mind and left those who are saved. Although the future is not completely predictable God is totally reliable. He will see you through everything. He will hold your hand in all kinds of situations. He will catch your tears, settle your racing heart and make sure you are protected all the days of your life. This is where your power lies – in knowing Christ and His resurrection. In knowing the Word and the power of God breathed into each promise. You are not fighting for victory you are walking in victory!
God loves you and He’s for you! Celebrate that today! Pray for the eyes to see His Truth right in the middle of today’s weather and ask Him to keep you in the rest of faith no matter what is ahead. Remind the enemy that you are saved, sealed, delivered and destined for heaven as you walk in the Truth of God’s Glorious Loving Care!
