Each year we hear about the baby Jesus being stolen from church yard nativity scenes or county courthouse crèches. Steal the baby always. Never do we hear that the donkey or one of the wise men or a shepherd was stolen. Always the baby. The attacks always come to the baby. So too in His real life, the world made attempts to steal the Babe – to destroy Him from the beginning.
Oh beloved, Jesus is the reason for the season. But oh so much more! He is your reason for living! He is the reason you are waking up this day and that your lungs are taking in the air necessary for life. He’s the reason you can face the disasters that come your way. He’s the reason you can rejoice in suffering. He’s the reason you know that even this present situation you are in will work together for your good. He’s the reason you can stand when all around you is falling. And why you can have victory when everything and everyone seems to be failing. Don’t take Christ out of your Christmas! Celebrate Him greatly! Make Him the focal point of all you do. For surely Christ Jesus the Lord has risen to new life so that you have reason for the season and everything else!
Whatever you are facing today, Immanuel – God is with you! He will guide you, protect you, keep you, redeem your circumstances and renew your faith in Him. He is never going to leave you no matter who else does. He isn’t going to condemn you no matter what denunciation comes your way. You are not the victim of any circumstances you face. Just as Christ was born in an obscure hay trough in an obscure barn, your circumstances are just a stepping stone to glory! This is your finest hour – to live loved and continue in the faith with strength, honor and power to walk in the victory that is yours because of Him!
God loves you and He’s for you – always, forever, to infinity, without change, never lacking in love or care for you. Rejoice in the Reason for your life and live totally loved and fulfilled in Christ as you walk in Holy Spirit infilling all the days of your life!
