Jesus Is the Good Life

There was a time when I was standing in the house we have right now. It was 17 years ago. Life was good and we were enjoying it thoroughly. Spiritual and physical things were all in a great condition. It was so good in fact that I said to Danny that day, “You know life is so good that I can’t imagine it being any better than heaven.” Dumb words those were. I knew better but life was really good. Because the very next year things spiraled in a direction we never saw coming.

God didn’t bring the problems and tests on us, but through them I realized that our hope is in Christ alone and heaven is our real home. I became surer of the Lord and less focused on the “good life”. I also learned how to really enjoy life. What a gift!

Oh beloved, life can be oh so good! We’ve been promised many precious promises in the Word. We’ve been told that we have the abundant life. We’ve been given word that we will be victorious always. But problems have come in your life haven’t they? You’re fighting battles again and you just wonder when will it all end? It’s time to look to the Lord!

God wants you to know this morning that He is with you! His hand is on you and His love surrounds you! He wants you to know that you can always look to Him. He also says that you are the apple of His eye. He is enthralled with your beauty. He has a wonderful plan for your life. He wants you to know that you are unshakeable because you are thoroughly planted into His plan. Nothing will defeat you, nothing will destroy you and nothing is able to remove you from God’s will for your life! Tough times won’t last but they are forming in you an everlasting faith in the One who holds the stars in the sky and holds you forever. It’s time to stop looking at the situations, problems and fears of life. Instead put your focus on the Lord. Learn to life the abundant life right in the midst of ordinary days. God is setting you up to go from natural to supernatural and from ordinary to extraordinary! The training you receive now, in the hard times, is going to give you matchless abilities to walk with your eye on heaven and your heart full of the fruits of the Spirit!

Indeed God loves you and He’s for you. Even now, you who are going through stuff you’d rather not encounter. Rejoice in the victory that you walk in by divine birth and rest in the promises that God is with you always. Things will change suddenly in the blink of an eye as you live totally focused on the wonderful promises of God!

2 Corinthians 4:17 For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!

Psalm 5:11 But let all who take refuge in You rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever. Spread Your protection over them, that all who love Your name may be filled with joy.

Philippians 3:20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ;

Colossians 3:2-3 Set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above [the heavenly things], not on things that are on the earth [which have only temporal value]. For you died [to this world], and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God. Amplified

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
