One of the amazing sights of our weekend campout was the 10 point buck that came dancing up. He came within an arm’s length of Danny and I and our little granddaughter sitting at the fire ring. He probably would have kept coming had I not said anything. He dug his hooves in the dirt, stared at us and took off in another direction. Unfortunately he found another camp full of people. So he made a rebound towards us. Finally he found the shoreline and danced away and out of sight.
He was majestic and one of the largest bucks I’ve ever seen. But when he encountered us he was quite fearful. More so than a small fawn would have been. The trust factor was far gone. He had been hunted and wanted no part of humanity.
Oh beloved, do you know how majestic your life in Christ is? When you encounter dangers, toils, troubles or fears you don’t have to avoid life. In fact you cannot avoid them. Just as the large buck was running off he was being chased by campers with cameras. Your fears will chase you wherever you go. But there is a cure for this – it is to stand your ground. The enemy wants to keep you breathless and trying to escape the hunt. But he has no authority and he has no serious weaponry. You on the other hand have everything for life and godliness – including weapons of warfare that are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. You have the authority to walk into the enemy’s camp and render him useless for the Kingdom! The warfare of the Spirit is a beautiful thing for it sets you free to go anywhere He leads you. Christ was resurrected so you could go totally free! Fear has no hold on you and death has no sting. You are a living, breathing, majestic representation of God’s creation, Jesus’s intercession and Holy Spirit’s infilling!
God loves you and He’s for you! Don’t hold back. Don’t avoid the problems. Your strength is rising even now as you find hope and power to live in the Strength of God’s Wonderful Truth!
2 Corinthians 10:4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. NIV
Ephesians 6:13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.
James 4:7 So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you.
Psalm 112:8 Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear; in the end they will look in triumph on their foes.
