We have been watching the weather because of something we have planned to do next weekend. As I check the weather reports online I see each day the list of possibilities of bad weather that could occur – everything from wind damage, blowing dust and travel hazards to severe thunderstorms and heavy rain elsewhere. The message goes on to tell us that flooding could occur all across the nation. Guess that’s why they call it “weather warnings”.
Oh beloved, God wants you to know this morning that He is the Great I AM. You have been hearing much frightful news about the upcoming events in your land. From personal problems to national problems, you only hear bad news. You feel you are being prepped for an apocalypse. God says remember who is the prince of the power of the air – the devil wants you believing every prediction and dire report that’s out there. Thus he will keep you confused, worried and despairing of hope.
But God says Behold you will trust and not be afraid! No terror by night or arrow by day is meant to frighten you. You are not the sum of the surrounding news, you are in the Lord’s hands and He has good news for you! He has triumphed, therefore you will! He has overcome therefore you are an overcomer! You aren’t surrounded by troubles you are surrounded by a heavenly host! Even though the floods might come and the winds may howl you are surrounded by songs of deliverance! Even when you go through the troubles you will not be disabled or demolished. It’s your destiny to grow strong in the Lord and in the power of His Might!
God loves you and He’s for you! Rehearse His message and live surrendered to His loving care as you walk in the Light of His plan for your life!
Psalm 46:1-2 God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea.
2 Samuel 22:17 He reached down from heaven and rescued me; He drew me out of deep waters.
