The cry of the umpire at the game last night rang through the Dallas ballpark. We decided to watch the Rangers play for two reasons. We’ve been there in person. And we have loved ones who work security. The love of the game combined with the prayers of safety for our people in uniform just compelled us. We love to hear the word safe when our team is playing. And we loved knowing that nothing happened during the game in that ballpark to cause anyone not to be safe.
Oh beloved, you aren’t the only one who is feeling the effects of a lost world. It’s hard to feel safe when things are crashing all around you. God wants you to know this morning that there is only one place of true safety and that is in His arms. He has you. He cares about you. He planned ahead for your safe passage into heaven. A lost world is a dangerous place to live. But God is watching over you always. Kingdoms are grappling for advantage and rule. But God’s Kingdom is the winner. You who belong to Jesus are winners because you are on the right team. Wherever you go you are an ambassador of light. Even though you cannot know your own future, God does. And He wants you to know that this is no time to cower in fear or refuse to leave your home. It’s time to get out and spread the Good News! It’s time to pray! It’s time to wait before you speak to be sure, but when you speak – speak the Word! You are not destined to live fearfully and tormented by worry about what might happen. Your destiny is to live completely free to be who God has called you to be. Not one sparrow falls to the ground without His knowledge. He is able. You never go alone and you never have to watch your back – because God is with you and He surrounds you with His love. His eye is on you and you are the very apple of His eye! Yes war is going on in the heavenlies and on earth – but you are a soldier in the army of the Lord. So wield the sword of the spirit and go forth in righteousness taking territory back for the Kingdom!
God loves you and He’s for you. Simple words today in light of all the fearful goings on in this country and this world, but those simple words are like a blanket of comfort as you live fully alive in the Light of His Kingdom and Power!
Matthew 10:29-31 What is the price of two sparrows–one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.
Proverbs 18:10 The name of the LORD is a strong fortress; the godly run to Him and are safe.
2 Chronicles 15:4 But in their distress they turned to the LORD God of Israel, and they sought Him, and He let them find Him.
Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go. NIV
