Better Than a Brand New Bridge

A truck hit the big river bridge at the edge of town. Now this bridge has looked beaten and battered for many years. In fact a new bridge is being constructed right near it. But this truck hit the bridge in such a way that easy access across the river is now gone. It’s become unstable for the over a thousand vehicles that usually cross it daily. What used to be a small trip to that end of the county and towns beyond is now relegated to the long way around. There are huge implications for our area. One little mistake caused a huge mishap and now access is gone. We have no idea when restoration will begin or if it will happen at all.

Oh beloved, God wants you to know that He is the Restorer of broken things. His new mercy every morning repairs all the previous day’s mishaps. You may have been traveling the long way around for some time – trying to show yourself to be worthy of God’s restoration. But beloved, God wants you to know that His love covers you completely. You don’t have to prove your worth after the damage is done. Trying to repair yourself is impossible. It’s time to run to the Father’s Arms and let Him make all things new. You’re not sure when restoration will begin or if it will happen at all. But God is already working to restore your life and He is granting you access to His Presence immediately. When the enemy tells you it’s too late or you’re too damaged, he is lying and his desire is to keep you humiliated and frustrated and working on yourself. God says come to Me and I will redeem the time, restore the break, heal your heart and love you all the way.

God loves you and He’s for you. He has built a bridge by the blood of the Lamb and He has secured the crossover by Holy Spirit indwelling. Run to Him this morning and praise Him for His wonderful mercy and grace. And live a forgiven, redeemed, renewed, restored life as you walk in the Light of His Glory and Grace!

Psalm 44:26 Rise up, be our help, And redeem us for the sake of Your lovingkindness.

Psalm 78:35 And they remembered that God was their rock, And the Most High God their Redeemer.

Psalm 103:1-5 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

About Rebekah Beene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
