Jesus For Your Generation

In the 70’s my parents discovered Albert Pike Recreation Area. In the 80’s we took our children there. In the 90’s our kids took their college friends there. And now we have taken our grandchildren there. Four generations across nearly 50 years have enjoyed the beauty of the remote mountain roads and waterfalls. It’s just as beautiful as it was when I was 14 years old. But things change. Improvements have been made – things such as paved roads, new walkways and other things make for a present day experience that is different from those early visits.

God speaks to my heart. In families where there are generations of people who have given their hearts to Me there are the blessings of things that are the same across those generations. The Word of God, the hymns and worship songs, the fellowship and more. But each generation – each person, must experience their own personal walk with Christ. We cannot base our knowledge on the salvation of another – we must seek and have a modern day on time relationship with the Lord for ourselves.

Oh beloved, God knows that you’ve tried to go back and experience the things you knew as a child. He’s glad you’ve returned to Him to seek the feelings and blessings of yesteryear. But He’s calling you into a walk with Him that will be better – because it will be your personal encounter with Jesus. The same Lord but a different generation – your heart is yearning for a whole new walk with God. Things are different for you – God is always the same but He’s always giving Himself to seeking hearts. Don’t worry if you don’t have the “old time religion” of your ancestors. The only thing that matters is that you put your trust for salvation in the only One who can give that to you – Jesus. Some other things are changing in your life as well. You feel a call and tug on your heart to travel new roads and experience new things. God is able to make your walk with Him as a modern day experience. He has this magnificent way of speaking across the generations and giving each one their own special significance in Him. God’s ways never change but He desires to impart to you His love, mercy and grace so that you can walk with Him in wisdom, power and love today.

God loves you and He’s for you. Some things will always be the same: There is salvation in no other for all must call upon the Name of Jesus. Some things will be different: your experience will be your own and will give you a new anointing for this new generation – no matter what your age. Don’t fear being more on fire for God or desiring a more personal fellowship with the Lord. He is calling you out of darkness for this season so that He can give you a heart of worship as you live in the Light of His Glory and Grace!

John 14:6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.

Psalm 145:4 One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts.

Isaiah 38:19 Only the living can praise You as I do today. Each generation tells of Your faithfulness to the next.

John 3:6 Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life.

Ephesians 1:17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better.

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
