History Mystery & God’s Love Story!

Reading was one of my favorite pastimes as a kid. From love stories to historical novels to mysteries, whatever book I was reading I would voraciously wolf it down. One can live vicariously through their books. I would always pick a story that had a good ending.

We can say too that our own lives are a mixture of history and mystery with a love story thrown in. We all have a history. And we all can relate to the mystery of our lives. Why did we have to go through that? Why did things turn out that way? What was the point of that? Although looking back can seem like a mystery to us that love story of God’s presence in our life weaves throughout. And always, always, He promises us a happy ending.

Oh beloved, your history may look pretty gruesome. It may have colored your present story. Past regrets, rejections and rebuffs have kept you wary of new stories of friendship, fellowship and faith. You want to trust God, you want to trust others, but it’s a mystery to you why anyone would come alone and stay in your life. Look at your history. But then Christ comes in and with His amazing love He will weave His message throughout your history and help you realize that all along He was with you like no other. He is truly the Friend that sticks closer than a brother.
You’re not destined to repeat history as far as the bad parts go. You don’t have to live in the midst of your mistakes and mishaps. Your life is hidden in Christ – He is the Author of your story and it’s a love story like no other! Even if you lived a torrid life of ignoring God and living for yourself that is history. It’s water under the bridge that has gone out into the sea of forgetfulness. If God doesn’t remember it and replay it for you, then it’s time to say no to the hurtful things from your past and move on to the new things in Christ that are full of blessings and honor, glory and power.

That same God who kept you during your historic moments is the same God who will keep you in the mysterious times of wonder. He will finish it all off as a love story full of care and protection, peace and redemption. You are a valuable central character in your story – in God’s story about you! Someone needs to hear your story and see how wonderful God is and how magnificently He changes everything into something good and glorious for the Kingdom of God!

God loves you and He’s for you. It really doesn’t matter if no one is with you. You have a message to portray from your history, you have a God to trust through your mysteries. And you are a living epistle of a love story surrounding the walk of faith with Christ. Rejoice as you lay your past aside, trust God to bring you fellowship and more as you live in the Light of His Story of Grace!

Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Isaiah 43:7 Bring all who claim me as their God, for I have made them for my glory. It was I who created them.

Isaiah 43:18 Do not call to mind the former things, Or ponder things of the past.

Romans 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

I Peter 1:3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by His great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation.

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
