We had supper with our middle child and her three children last night. As I watched those grandkids play together I saw envy, greed, and selfishness fly in and out of the room like the wind. The only time I heard the word “share” was when Stella, the almost 5 year old little sister, attempted to take something a brother had! One time the oldest brother complained with tears that his little brother “ripped my snake’s tongue out!” because he wouldn’t let him play with it. Wow!
God speaks to my heart. You and I beloved are gifted and talented. We have such amazing gifts given to us from the Father. We don’t have to be envious or greedy or selfish when it comes to life in Christ. There’s more than enough of Him and His Presence to go around! Your gift is never lessened when others shine. Your plan is never placed on hold by someone else’s platform. I don’t have to struggle to be heard, be seen or be first. We are all in this together – the family of God. And as such we are all important to the Body of Christ. When we spend time with the Father we find our true worth. When we give our woes and our self intentions to Him He adjusts our temperament so that we can be joyful whether we are playing, waiting, sharing or just resting in His presence!
God loves you and He’s for you! God loves me too! He’s for all of us! Let Him have everything beloved and watch as He spreads you around along with His other children and creates a fragrance of salvation, glory and grace all over the world!
I Peter 4:10 Just as each one of you has received a special gift [a spiritual talent, an ability graciously given by God], employ it in serving one another as [is appropriate for] good stewards of God’s multi-faceted grace [faithfully using the diverse, varied gifts and abilities granted to Christians by God’s unmerited favor]. (Amplified Version)
I Corinthians 12:2 There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all.
