Brick Walls & Milestones

Brick walls and milestones are both quite strong. I’ve hit both many times. I’ve learned some things about both brick walls and milestones that are important. You cannot avoid them. You cannot make them disappear by ignoring them. And you cannot overcome them on your own. But the most important thing for you and I to know is that with God we can do what is impossible otherwise.

Oh beloved, God wants you to know this morning that He knows that brick wall you are up against. He’s asking you to stop and survey it again. Look at it closely and let Him speak to your heart about it. He is either going to teach you how to scale the wall or He is going to protect you. If you have run ahead of God He will produce the block so that you can’t continue the path of danger or recklessness. He understands you just want to move on, but He wants to protect you more than anything else. You don’t have to quit, no matter what you are facing. It’s not worth falling apart, giving up or giving in to doom and gloom. One of your greatest milestones will be to understand the purpose of brick walls and let God decide how to approach them. Eventually, every wall of hardship, hurt, fear and disappointment has to fall. But walls of protection are comforting, encouraging and the safest place you will ever be.

God says when you meet your milestone or you approach that brick wall He will be with you. He knows your age, your situation, your plans and your hopes and dreams. You have not come to a place of no longer being useful or blessed. As long as you are breathing God has plans for you that are out of this world! Rejoice in the wall, praise that milestone and embrace the Lord’s truth about you – your destiny is still ongoing with more milestones and brick walls ahead, but oh the delight of scaling those walls when God says go and oh the wonder of enjoying milestones knowing that God has been and will be with you no matter where you go, what you face or how you get there.

God loves you and He’s for you – yesterday, today and tomorrow. A teachable spirit is your best option now for God teaches such loving lessons in the hardest places and turns them into altars of worship for the lessons you learn about Him. Keep going forward, much is ahead in your walk with Him that is good and right. Keep praising Him no matter what and thank Him for His tender loving care as you overcome boundaries and remain secure in His presence living in the Light of His Glory and Grace!

Psalm 16:1 Keep me safe, O God, for I have come to You for refuge.

Psalm 18:36 You have made a wide path for my feet to keep them from slipping.

Psalm 130:5 I wait for the LORD, my soul does wait, And in His word do I hope.

2 Corinthians 4:1 Therefore, since God in His mercy has given us this new way, we never give up.

Philippians 3:1 Whatever happens, my dear brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord. I never get tired of telling you these things, and I do it to safeguard your faith.

About Rebekah Beene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
