We Just Want it Easy

It was a thrilling moment to agree to host some radio interviews recently. I was on board with it all. Until technical difficulties ensued. I found myself wrestling with the program that wasn’t working as well as other issues all around me. It was difficult. I thought perhaps I should quit trying. The other members of the recording team were much more adept at it than I was. Even another new user just slid through the setup and had an interview already recorded and uploaded. I became very unsure of myself and just knew I had spoken up when I shouldn’t have.

Isn’t that how we are? We find a little difficulty and we’re done. We love the ease of Christianity, but we’re not really ready for the troubles that are sure to come. When we hear the call of God on our life, as in open doors of opportunity to do something we’ve never done before, we’re ready. But setting up for the results can be problematic. That’s why so many walk away – from God, life, marriage, work, ministry and more. We wonder if God knows just how hard this walk of faith is. Surely He wouldn’t mean for us to have trouble and remain in the trouble? See if through?

Oh beloved, you may be thinking it’s time to walk away. You hear business as usual but you’re not feeling it. You started out in the Spirit but now it’s just drudgery. You’re not appreciated, you’re not recognized. Or you’re worn out, frazzled, preoccupied with misunderstandings, misgivings and misinterpretations of the situation. You didn’t realize the life of a believer was surrounded by unbelievable things that will scare you and make you want to run. Realize right now that you can make a stand and remain faithful to the call. If God opened that door for you then it’s yours to go through! By the rights given all believers in Christ, you are valiant, persistent, overcoming and courageous enough to go through and remain where God has placed you. The technical issues you are facing are a setup – to create Fire in your belly and ignite overcoming virtue for the days ahead!

God loves you and He’s for you! That’s why you don’t have to quit when things get hard. The blessing comes with the perseverance. The outcome is always good when you stay the course. Your destiny is to proceed in the Spirit as you walk through it all in the Power of the Resurrection of Christ!

Psalm 73:24 You guide me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny.

I Corinthians 1:24 But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.

I Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
