Whackamole & Issues

After getting off the phone at work dealing with one issue and answering an email dealing with another I got a phone call on my personal phone and dealt with yet another issue. When I got off work I laughingly said to a co-worker that it would be nice to deal with one thing at a time, but there always seems to be more than one. Thankfully for work there’s always time to get things done and as I prepare for deadlines I know that each thing will be taken care of as I calmly go through the work load and finish up.

With families and personal life, the issues don’t just always get settled that easily. They are more than just ticking off a to do list and finishing up a job. Yesterday as I was thinking about all the issues of life that are going on, I saw the game Whack-a-Mole in my mind and realized God knew how I was feeling. One jumps up and you whack it down and another jumps up and you whack that one down. If we are meant to do all the work of taming the dragons, healing the hurts, fixing the problems and responding to the needs, then we are going to find ourselves in a mess.

But when we stop, drop and roll we find peace in the midst of it all and assurance from God that it’s His job to deal with, they are His issues, the people we love are His sheep and the problems can only be solved by Him. What a relief!

Oh beloved, God knows your issues and He sees you trying valiantly to fix everything. He wants you to know that you are so extraordinarily special to Him. He also knows you are valiant and faithful to attempt fixing everything. But He is your Fixer. He alone can fix things in a way that will be permanent, perfect and won’t unravel in the process. Isn’t that refreshing to know you don’t have to make it all happen? In fact God is speak to you right now and He’s saying stop: stop fretting, stop laboring, stop wishing, hoping and crying. Give that issue to me. He’s saying drop: drop to your knees in prayer, drop the problem you weren’t meant to carry on your own and drop the feelings of guilt for not working it all out. Most of all He says roll: roll your cares on Him for He cares for you and your issues and your people and your hopes, dreams and all. He says that the best antidote for playing whackamole with your life is to praise Him. Praise is your weapon of choice when feeling pressured to perform. Hit those problems with the Word of God and praise Him for the answers and wait till He works it all out for His glory. You’re not meant to live a mortified, defeated, anxious, worried life. Those prayers you are praying for your family and your problems need faith to ignite them not fear. You are destined to be a prayer warrior, fighting on your knees, working in the Spirit and relying on a Holy Father to make it happen.

God loves you and He’s for you! Rest in His promises as you lay it all at His feet. Rejoice in His tender loving care and amazing plans for your life and the life of those you love. Remain faithful in the process and don’t worry about trying to beat everything into place. You are walking through this season with high hopes and bigger expectations of what God can do as you live in the Light of His Glory and Grace!

Ephesians 3:20 Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.

2 Thessalonians 3:16 Now may the Lord of peace Himself continually grant you peace in every circumstance. The Lord be with you all!

Psalm 5:3 In the morning, O LORD, You will hear my voice; In the morning I will order my prayer to You and eagerly watch.

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
