As I look at the boxes of Christmas ornaments lining the wall in my dining room the task of setting the house for the holidays seems monumental. It doesn’t just happen, it has to be coordinated and arranged in a way that takes time. Nobody just throws their ornaments and garland on the tree. They don’t just pitch the lights at it. What would happen? At best you’d have a messy look. At worst brokenness would happen. Things that are fragile and essential are worth the time to place carefully and in order. The whole tree needs to be full of light, not just one jumbled spot.
Oh beloved, so too your walk with Christ! It’s not a random thing. It’s not a throw it all somewhere and hope it lands well. God has called you out of your dark areas to spread His light everywhere from within you! It takes time to develop a beautiful life in Christ. Unlike the Christmas tree that is packed away after the holidays, our ornaments from God should never be packed away. God’s plan for you and me is to shine His glory most brightly in our darkest moments. Even when others would just shove you in a closet or throw you out with the leftovers, you are destined to glow with God’s glory! He’s not unaware of what you’re going through. He’s not turned His back on your situation. He’s not left you to decorate haphazardly or without spiritual thought. He is ready and willing to guide you, protect you, keep you, use you and glorify Himself through your life. Rejoice! Your King is with you. Remember! Your Savior is interceding for you. Relax! Holy Spirit guidance is yours in every circumstance.
God loves you and He’s for you. Go forth with purpose and stability not just at Christmas but all through the year. His hand is on you and His light is within you – that’s enough to stop and give Him first place in all you do! Heaven rejoices as you go forth living in the Light of His Gospel of Love!
