Make a Note of That

I’ve noticed that as I get older I need more notes. Little paper reminders of what’s going on, where I need to go and what is happening help me. Without notes I’m likely to forget a few details. The best laid plans seem to evaporate without those prompts.  I’ve become a great fan of sticky notes and I love the colorful lined ones the most. Having notes keeps me from wondering , puzzling and wracking my brain for information about the whereabouts of co-workers as well. Their schedules keep them traveling outside the office a lot and I need to remember where they are in case I need to contact them.

Oh beloved, how’s your memory? Have you forgotten anything lately? Are you wracking your brain for the right answer to a present problem or a future fear? God has written wonderful love notes and bound them in a book for you.  These are wonderful words of life to help you remember things you will need to know. Are you writing down the truth you glean from His Word? You will need it at a future time. The enemy wants you to forget what you’ve read so that he can replace the truth with a lie. He’s subtle but convincing. If you can’t remember in the heat of the moment you won’t respond with God’s Truth.  God knows what you’ve been going through and He knows that His children are very forgetful. To know the Truth and remember it at just the right time will set you free – from the snares of the devil, from the problems of the day and from the mistakes of the past. Noting the Truth will also set you free to be all you are in Christ! Never forget that you are Redeemed, restored to right relationship with God and renewed in the mind by being filled with the Holy Spirit. These truths keep you secure when times are tough.  Remembering who you are in Christ gives you strength in weakness, joy in the midst of sorrow and hope when things look hopeless.  You were never meant to be a forgetful hearer, but a mindful doer of God’s Truth. How wonderful is our God who has done so much for us – you don’t have to live preoccupied, absent minded, unfocused. Your destiny is to be attentive, powerful, full of the Word and going forth with wisdom, power and love!

God loves you and He’s for you! Make a note of that and keep it near your heart. What wonderful things surround you now and await you in your future as you live fully aware of God’s magnificent Truth about you!

Isaiah 43:1 But now, thus says the Lord, your Creator, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel, “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine!

John 17:17 Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.

Psalm 77:11 I shall remember the deeds of the Lord; Surely I will remember Your wonders of old.

Psalm 119:11 Your word I have treasured and stored in my heart, that I may not sin against You.

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
