There are three stumps in our front yard where trees used to be. I’m trying hard to figure out what to do about those stumps. We have a couple of lawn decorations we put out each year but it seems impossible to visualize with those stumps. They will be gone eventually but right now they are just there, in the way, reminders of what used to be.
Oh beloved, God knows what’s bothering you. He’s seen the things that have become glaring reminders of the past. He knows you would like to change your focus but you’ve stared at the situation so long that you can’t seem to move on. This day is your day! The Lord Himself is here to change your focus. There’s nothing you can do about some things, so it’s time to hand them over to God and adjust! Adjust your heart and mind to another focus. It’s time to focus on the Lord and give Him time to change the scenery in your life. Staring at past regrets, future fears or even happy memories of the past can cause the blessings of today to fade. But as you live today, full of its promise, you will soon forget what used to preoccupy you. You are not destined to live a life of focus on anything or anyone other than the Lord. You are redeemed from the curse of regret! You are redeemed to see the Lord cause all things to work together for your good. So if there’s a problem you can’t change, pray and leave it in His hands. At the right time all will smooth out. Whether it’s your lawn or your home or your family, God has it all in His loving hands. As you praise, worship and rejoice in all you have in Christ, you will grow stronger, live more joyfully and forget what used to bother you so much!
God loves you and He’s for you! That’s something to decorate your life with! He makes all things new, He smooths out the rough places and He adorns you with all the gifts and fruit of the Spirit! Thank Him for changing your focus and give Him the glory as you live in the Light of His Glory & Grace!
