What? Compassion? Me?

Our middle daughter surprised us by telling us that they got a new puppy over the weekend. In fact they got two! She told me that they saw the puppies on a swap shop and got directions to the house in another county. As they followed the directions and turned onto the dirt lane they both realized that maybe this wasn’t such a good neighborhood they were going into. As they arrived in the yard their concerns were confirmed – it wasn’t a place you’d normally find something you really want. But out bounded a beautiful purebred chocolate lab. She was followed by very cute mixed breed puppies. She was obviously purebred and also well trained by someone else. Our son in law felt such compassion on the puppies. He whispered to our daughter to pick two not one! He just wanted to rescue more than one from the situation.

When we were lost, God felt such compassion on us. He wasn’t content to save one, His desire was to save the entire world! His compassion is beyond our wildest imagination. He’s so compassionate a Savior that when we get out of our element as believers, He comes again to redeem our situations and give us a fresh start.

Oh beloved, what kind of situation do you find yourself in this morning? Are you out of your element? Have you lost your way? Maybe you are reeling from being dumped on the roadside of life from someone who was totally bereft of concern.  You may think you deserve this and you just have to learn to live with it. God wants you to know this morning that He remains your Redeemer for all of your days, through all of your problems and in spite of your mistakes! He’s here this morning beckoning you to reach out for His compassionate hand of love! Even if you are living in squalor of sorrow, depression, and pain He will lift you up! Don’t let the enemy tell you God doesn’t care or that God put you in the conditions you find yourself in. Don’t let the enemy convince you that you’ve messed up once too often. Don’t let the enemy tell you that you don’t deserve to be encouraged or restored. This same Jesus who saved you from the penalty of sin and death is here right now to give you a fresh start and return you to the life you were meant to live as a child of God. Whether it’s your living conditions or your heart condition, God is here for you! He never leaves His own. He never dumps His children on the roadside of life. He never expects you to make yourself new or get yourself cleaned up before He lets you come home! He alone is the Redeemer and Savior of your heart and mind!

God loves you and He’s for you! It’s a good morning to start fresh and new! A love call like no other, He’s calling you back from the lies of the enemy, back into fellowship, back to your rightful place as a child of the Most High God and back to your appointment with Him. Run back to Him and rejoice as your whole life is changed as you live again in the Light of His wonderful Glory & Grace!

Psalm 34:22 The LORD redeemeth the soul of His servants: and none of them that trust in Him shall be desolate. KJV

Psalm 31:7 I will rejoice and be glad in Your lovingkindness, Because You have seen my affliction; You have known the troubles of my soul

Lamentations 3:22 The LORD’S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail.

2 Samuel 22:17 He reached down from heaven and rescued me; He drew me out of deep waters.

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
