The attack on Paris has us rattled. In the few hours of this terrible attack we already hear many declarations of desperation. We are doomed. We are next. We are in danger. As I was watching and praying last night I saw a post that read “the question of evil appears to be eternal, but in fact, evil had a beginning and it will have an end”. In my own heart I hear “evil often appears to win, but ultimately only God and His Kingdom will be victorious”.
Oh beloved, now is not the time to be fearful. You may not know what is going to happen next, but you can know what to do in every time of fear and worry. Every situation you find yourself in, whether it’s an international crisis or a personal heartache you can pray. Prayer is the battlefield where God is leading His army in triumph even when things look so very bad. You may not be safe in this world, but you are always safe in God. Christ went to the cross, the ultimate sacrifice, so that you could live in the Presence and Power of the Lord forever. It’s time for you to rejoice in the Father, rehearse the redemption of the Son and rest under the authority of the Holy Spirit. This is the Body of Christ’s time to shine – reach out in wisdom, power and love to proclaim the Kingdom of God and the Gospel! This good news will keep the fainthearted alive and change the fearful, worried, weak and sorrowful into triumphant soldiers of the Word. While you aren’t promised a perfect world here and now, you are promised that God is with you and He will take care of you no matter what.
God loves you and He’s for you. That’s a promise beloved that you can stand on. When the money is low, the bills are high, the harassment seems unbearable and your heart wants to faint within you. Recount God’s Word and worship Him for who He is and praise Him that ultimately the Body of Christ will walk in triumph with God as you live fully alive and power filled living in the Light of His Prevailing Promises.
Isaiah 26:3 You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in You, all whose thoughts are fixed on You!
Isaiah 12:2 “Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; For the LORD GOD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation.”
Psalm 112:7-8 They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the LORD to care for them. They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly.
Revelation 17:14 “These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful.”
