After church we were visiting with friends and she mentioned that this was going to be a busy week for them with two meetings and their business in the busy season. I was surprised because I thought their meeting was the previous Friday. I had wanted to go, but Danny worked late and felt bad when he got home, so we didn’t go. In fact I was miffed with him because he didn’t seem to remember that I wanted to go. We had to laugh because after all my insistence I didn’t miss the meeting after all. I also had to apologize to my husband as well. What if we had gone that night? We’d have found an empty meeting place and our friends weren’t even home that evening, so we’d have made a trip, in the rain, for nothing.
Timing is everything.
Oh beloved, you may be “miffed” because things haven’t gone on the timeline you want. It’s easy to get frustrated when you try to get things of the Spirit to move along at your pace. Once frustration sets in it’s hard not to have anger, remorse, mistrust and more step in. It’s a tangled web of emotions that gets itself wrapped around the heart. God wants you to know this morning that He gives the desires of your heart to you. But you must learn to trust His timing for timing is everything. Trust will give you peace in the process. And as you wait upon the Lord your strength will be renewed for the journey ahead. Trust Him as well for the answers to things you want in life. He may not say yes to one thing, but you can trust Him to give His yes to the best. Trust in the Lord and do good – what a promise from God! As you trust in the Lord you will find that your heart has no fear, your mind has no chaos and your life will be free from the pest of worry. You won’t miss a thing God has for you beloved. He’s not withholding anything from you and He’s not holding back His blessings because you are remaining steadfast with Him despite the wait.
You can rejoice as you commit your plans to God knowing that His best is your best as well. It’s not your destiny to live a missed opportunity life. Rather you are destined to live securely in God’s will, walking in His favor, waiting for His timing and living in peace, love and joy all through the process! This is a strong believer’s badge of honor – to wait upon the Lord!
God loves you and He’s for you! This is why you can trust Him and wait on Him and be confident in Him. Relax in the process and pray without ceasing as you live in the Light of your On Time Lord!
Psalm 37:3-5 Trust [rely on and have confidence] in the Lord and do good; Dwell in the land and feed [securely] on His faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and petitions of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; Trust in Him also and He will do it.
Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding.
Galatians 6:9 So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
