I used to be green with envy. I was a young believer who wanted to everything for God and with Him. Christ made His home in my heart and both my husband and I wanted to take the world for Jesus! I watched as others did “things for God” and we couldn’t do everything in our hearts and I could easily become green – wishing I was them or they were me.

Now I am green for sure! But this kind of green has come from years of walking with the Lord. The little things done with sweet love for the Savior have become big things. I am now walking in the things He’s called me to and without the desire to wish I was someone else or could do something else. Christ in me the hope of glory!  Today I am resting in green pastures, feeding on living waters to keep alive and green like a talk oak tree. Every day is green in its own special way because each morning I wake up in renewal, refreshment and restoration!

Oh beloved, green is lovely when it’s all about the Savior! Let Him take you into the heavenly places of His tender love! He is the door to everything else in the Christian life. If you ‘re feeling dry and dreary, stop and rest in the Father’s arms and let Him refresh you as you live the green life in the light of His wonderful Love!

Psalm 23:2 He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters.

Acts 30:20 Then times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord, and He will again send you Jesus, your appointed Messiah.

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”

  1. Cool. Well-written.

I’m more of a ‘brown’ person, one of those Englishmen (by education; I am Mongolian by birth) who, after the manner of lawrence and his brethren, loves the desert.

But there is nothing IN the desert!
