“What’s My Line?”

This morning an old game show comes to my mind. “What’s My Line?” There was a celebrity panel whose job was to ask questions of contestants in order to determine their occupations. It was the longest-running primetime network television game-show airing from 1950 to 1967.

There are two things you and I need to know about our occupation or calling. We need to know that both God and the enemy know our true calling. Our identity is clear to them. What we also need to know is that it is imperative that our identity is clear to believers. The enemy will work as hard as he can to keep any of us from knowing our true position in Christ. He doesn’t come as a forked tailed, red clad devil. He comes to speak fear, worry, unworthiness, condemnation, confusion, performance, power, busy-ness, religion and more. If he can keep anyone from believing the truth regarding their position in Christ, then they will never discover who they really are in God’s eyes.

Oh beloved, God wants you to know this morning that He knows exactly who you are and His plan is to put you in position to receive the truth about yourself. You don’t have to listen to the enemy or believe lies about yourself anymore. You are set apart in Christ for God to live in the power of Holy Spirit! You can say no to the identities that don’t line up with the Word of God. Who you are positionally is how you can live experientially. Run to the Lord this morning and ask him, “What’s My Line?” He will give you the keys of the Kingdom to live free and forgiven, blessed and bold, worthy and able to wield the sword of the Spirit against any lies the enemy mighty throw your way. The closer you live in God’s presence the more sure you will be of your true identity.

The more you believe God’s Word over the enemy’s tactics, the stronger you will become in the spirit. Those who know who they are in Christ are bold as lions, strong as an army, and loving and forgiving as the Savior. Religion will always make you feel that you have to do something to deserve something. But God says abide in Me, for apart from Me you can do nothing. Although the flesh profits nothing, the spirit within you that raised Jesus from the dead will quicken your mortal body and give you all the influence you need to walk into the enemy’s camp and send him and his henchmen into retreat. It’s imperative in these last days that you know what your position is so that you can live it out for the glory of God to the benefit of the Kingdom of righteousness!

God loves you and He’s for you! As the fruitful abider in the Vine, you will not only know your identity, you will see your calling and live out His plans as you take ground for the Kingdom in the Light of His Truth about us!

Galatians 3:26 For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

Acts 20:32 And now I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

Ephesians 1:3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.

I Peter 2:9 But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

Ephesians 3:10 God’s purpose in all this was to use the church to display His wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
