My dad liked to move a lot. His restless spirit was always picking us up and planting us elsewhere. In 14 years of my life we moved from Texas to Louisiana, then back to Texas. Then to Arkansas, then three different towns. Then we picked up and went to a different town in Texas. Then back to Arkansas. It was on that return to Arkansas that I met my husband. As much as my dad liked to move, you’d think it would be impossible to connect. Especially since my future husband was also from Texas. His mother and step dad moved within 20 miles of where we lived. All those moves meant much upheaval for me. It was hard to make new friends and then move again. But even in those moves, God had a plan. He knew before the foundation of the world that part of my destiny was as a south Texas born girl to meet a West Texas born boy in Arkansas. The rest is HISstory!
Oh beloved, God knows the upheavals in your life have been hard. He understands your feelings for the need to have roots. But even in the midst of all the junk there is purpose only God can see. He is moving heaven and earth on your behalf. Just as the band tunes up before the performance and the sounds are all so different and uncoordinated without musical connection. At just the right time the Maestro will tap His music stand and all the notes come together for beautiful music, God is preparing beautiful music for your life. Watch and pray. Trust His hand. Rest in Him. You may be worn out in the flesh from all the moving and rearranging and loss and hardship. But the notes of His love will bring it all together for your good and His glory. Step into the Lord. He is ever present when everything else is changing. He is all seeing when you can’t see your way clear. He is all knowing when you know nothing but disharmony. He’s a wonderful Savior and at just the right time it will all come together. In the meantime you can shove certain things out of the way – despair has to flee, sorrow has to blow away, uncertainty must go. For you are the King’s daughter and you are safe in His arms throughout it all.
God loves you and He’s for you. In spite of what others may say, in spite of what others may do, God is always re-orchestrating your life for His glory. Rejoice in all that God is as your All Sufficient LORD. Rest in His promises and rehearse His Sovereignty as you live in the Light of His eternal purposes and everlasting Love!
