God Knew What He Was Getting Into!

My hubby has a new pickup. It was a great buy and it’s in very good condition. Although it’s not brand new, it’s brand new to him. He’s spent a couple of days cleaning it up and cleaning it out. Through simple searches within the recesses of the truck he now knows all three former owners, including who bought it new and where. He also knows what it was used for. Feed, hay and more were found. Just a simple search brought much to light.

As believers, we’re very careful to keep our information to ourselves. We know that for some, even our past might cause others not to love us or to shun us. Every one of us has a past and it’s totally without Christ.  Nobody is born perfect and no one makes it through life in perfection. The old adage “I’m okay, you’re okay” just won’t cut it. Yet we portray a nice tidy one owner life to the world. Before Christ we were owned by many. We can fill in our own blanks can’t we? But Jesus came in with his search light of love and just as the woman at the well found out – He tells us everything about ourselves – and we don’t even feel pain. Jesus exposes the past and then applies His Balm of Gilead. He doesn’t just cover it – He makes all things new! So the past no longer haunts us, it reminds us of what a great love and mercy and grace we are now participants of.

Oh beloved, you are so beautiful to God. He knows more than any other. No person on earth knows everything. But God has searched you and known you. He has picked you, not at random, but on purpose. He searched you out like my hubby searched for the truck. He picked you specifically – not in spite of your past or your present pain, but because He loves you.  There’s a song that says He knew what He was getting into and He still chose you! Wow, isn’t that amazing? You are perfect for God. You are beloved of God. Your life may have been something much different in the past, but you are destined for greatness in the Kingdom. Not great as man deems great, but much more wonderful than that! He has taken you, cleaned you inside and out, and put you on display for the world to see. The signs on your life are redeemed, purchased with a price far above rubies, worth it, beloved, protected, anointed and appointed! Stop crying about your past, stop worrying if someone will find out and start reciting the truth about you! You are the Lord’s and He is yours and His banner over your entire being is LOVE!

God loves you – forever. And He’s for you – no matter what. Stop and think about what wondrous grace you are living in. He brought you out and He has put His mark on your life and you are never going back! Old things are gone and you are brand new. Each day is your opportunity to relive the moments of faith and redemption and walk it all out in the Light of His Glory & Grace!

2 Corinthians 5:17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

Isaiah 43:18 “But forget all that–it is nothing compared to what I AM going to do.

Psalm 45:11 For your royal husband delights in your beauty; honor Him, for He is your lord.

Colossians 3:3 For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.

Galatians 2:20 My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
