What If?

What if it doesn’t rain? Just a state or two north of us, they are getting rain daily. All around us are showers, but here only a drop or two early one morning before daylight. The same people who had to wait and wait for the rain to stop to get their crops in are now wondering if the same crops will dry up. We are very dependent on rain. What if the trees that are now dropping their leaves for relief start to die?

The what if’s are a disease. We think that somehow by worrying about what could happen we can be better prepared for the worst. And yet the what if’s really are robbers. Henchmen of the enemy of our souls, what if’s will take our peace and joy and dry both up like the grass in our yard. What if’s won’t grow our faith or make us stronger.

Oh beloved, what if? What if God answers your prayers right on time? What if the latter rain of God’s Spirit is better than the former rain? What if God returns for you a double portion for the trouble you’ve been through? What if you stand on the Word of God instead of what you see? What if you rejoice right now before relief comes? What if you decide to believe God and ask what you will and it shall be done? God wants you to know this morning that He has not given you a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power and love and a sound mind! He wants you to know that He is the Only God who will answer your prayers and He will answer. He wants you to know that you are wasting your time fearing what might happen. Because His promises to you are true. He says it’s time to quit rehearsing the what ifs of your life and start rehearsing the I AM’s of the Word! Even though it’s dry now, it is going to rain. Even though you don’t see evidence of that prayer you’ve prayed forever, He’s sending His answer even now. Before the foundation of the world every one of your days was accounted for, planned and promised! And He says to you I love you with an everlasting love. He wants you to know that when you say what if God won’t love me His heart is broken for you because He wants you to understand the height and depth and permanence of His love! Once you understand that God is with you, that His covenant is for you and His Holy Spirit will guide you – you will never have to worry or what if again!

God loves you and He’s for you! Rehearse those words, speak them over your life and all your family. Repeat the sounding joy of salvation, justification, and incoming glorification. You aren’t just saved to make it, you’re saved to glorify the King! Keep speaking His Word and shut the enemy’s mouth and live like royalty as you walk in the Light of His eternal, never ending, magnificent Agape love and care!

2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. KJV

Philippians 4:7 And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Amplified

James 1:6 But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.

Hosea 6:3 Yes, let us know (recognize, be acquainted with, and understand) Him; let us be zealous to know the Lord [to appreciate, give heed to, and cherish Him]. His going forth is prepared and certain as the dawn, and He will come to us as the [heavy] rain, as the latter rain that waters the earth. Amplified

Matthew 6:25 For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

1 Peter 5:7 casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
