Our younger daughter will be sending all three of her children to school this year. Stella, at 4, will be in pre-K. It’s hard to believe they are all going to school! She has been practicing getting up earlier with them. This morning the oldest grandson, age 7, didn’t want to get up. He lounged. Finally she went in and reminded him that Kid’s Day Out at Church was going bowling today! He stretched and opened his eyes and smiled, “Thanks for reminding me! I had forgotten!” He hadn’t remembered that he had a great reason to awaken from slumber this morning.
Oh beloved, God says awaken! It’s time to wake up. You’ve languished in despair and insecurity long enough. You’ve been wondering if there’s even a reason to get up. Today God is tapping you on the shoulder and saying, “Arise, Shine! For My Light is Come!” You have awesome reason to awaken – awaken to His potential for you, awaken to the Truth about yourself, awaken to hope and peace and joy!
God loves you and He’s for you! That right there is enough to awaken to the new day! It’s hot and sultry outside, but your inner person is being rejuvenated in the cool waters of God’s Agape Love. Get up and see! Your day is changing already because you’re changing your focus from what was to what is as you jump out of bed and live in the Light of His Glory and Grace!
I Peter 1:6-9 In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Though you have not seen Him, you love Him. Though you do not now see Him, you believe in Him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine; for your light has come, And the glory of the LORD has risen upon you.
