There Are Good Things While Waiting

We love to enjoy meals with friends. It’s especially great when they are close friends. The food doesn’t really matter all that much, but the fellowship is very precious. We had a plan to meet with friends for breakfast but the rendezvous time was unclear. It ended up that we were quite early. We made the best of the situation by enjoying a few minutes with one another and the early morning beauty of God’s creation. Actually because of our schedules we don’t get a lot of early morning sunrise quiet moments together. So it was especially nice. Soon our friends were ready and we had fellowship and breakfast and enjoyed the special time together.

We could have fretted and gotten frustrated. We could have worried and gotten concerned. We could have changed our minds and made our own breakfast plans. But we cherished time with them and they with us – so it was worth the wait and in the meantime, while waiting, we got the extra blessing of sunrise enjoyment.

Oh beloved, you’re waiting on God. You have plans to rendezvous with Him. But it seems to you like His timing is off from yours. It appears that He’s late. And you want to hear from Him. You want to know where He is and why He hasn’t arrived to take care of your problems or just to listen to you and speak with you about life. Instead of the frustration of your impatience, God wants you to know this is the perfect time to rest in His creation. Stop and look around you and hear God speak through the waiting. He’s going to be right on time. The fellowship with him will be especially sweet. He’s going to answer every request and fill in every blank of the questions you have about life. He says slow down and look up – even the sun doesn’t come up without His express will. Even the birds don’t start singing without His okay. Even the breeze in the trees is there for His pleasure and your enjoyment. There’s a blessing in the waiting. There’s joy in taking moments alone with His creation and waiting upon Him. Those who wait on the Lord have their strength renewed! God will come to you – right on time. God will fellowship with you – He is not delayed. God is within you – you won’t fail while waiting. God is for you – He has wonderful things for you even in the waiting.

God loves you and He’s for you. He’s a right on time God with a Word in season and intimate fellowship for all believers, especially for you as He calls you beloved, friend, child, important, blessed, honored and cherished. Rest in His promises while you wait, enjoy His creation while you’re looking around and trust in His timing as you live in the Light of His glory and Grace!

Isaiah 40:31 Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.

Psalm 40:1 I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me and heard my cry.

Psalm 130:5 I wait for the LORD, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope.

Psalm 62:1 Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from Him.

Isaiah 12:2 See, God has come to save me. I will trust in Him and not be afraid. The LORD God is my strength and my song; He has given me victory.

Isaiah 64:6 For from days of old they have not heard or perceived by ear, nor has the eye seen a God besides You, who acts in behalf of the one who waits for Him.

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
