feet sending

When Danny’s father passed away there was a monumental ice storm going on in the Dallas area. We had to go through Dallas to get to Danny’s home town. I still remember riding through ruts of ice on the interstate in our pickup with our first born. By the time we left for West Texas the storm had lifted but the evidence of its fury remained. We could have said it’s too treacherous we will have to stay home. Eventually we got through the worst of it as the roads thawed and skies cleared.

Years later we were heading out on a long trip into New Mexico and a thunderstorm was wreaking havoc for us. We could have again said it’s too much to leave. We could wait it out and miss our plans altogether or head that way and take cover when needed. We left and we took cover a couple of times. But by the time we got about 90 miles into the trip the sun was coming up and the sky was clear.

Oh beloved, you are a called out one! You’ve been given the trip of a lifetime – to travel into unknown territory with the Lord! You’ve weathered storms from the comfort of your familiar territory, but now God is calling you further out. There may be some weather between you and God’s will. He’s calling you to stay the course. He’s making promises to you that will keep you on the road with Him in spite of rejections, misunderstandings, troubles or fears. You don’t have to make it on your own – in fact you can’t! The trip God has called you to take cannot be completed in the flesh or by human strength. That’s okay – no need to worry about what lies ahead. The same God who called you is the one who will perform His will through you. Others may say it’s too treacherous, you’re too old or the money’s not right – but GOD HAS CALLED YOU! The Same Lord who saved you, has now called you up and out. And the Same Lord who called you up and out will make the way for you!

God loves you and He’s for you. Regardless of what it looks like in the natural, you are moving into the supernatural. This is no ordinary territory, but it gets more and more familiar as you walk in it. You are blessed and chosen, favored and outfitted, called and made ready! You belong to the Lord who not only promises to help you all the way, He’s given His oath! Every time you wonder if you will make it, you can flee to Him for refuge and head out again with confidence as you walk in His will and live in the Light of His Glory and Grace!

Genesis 12:1 The LORD had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you.”

Hebrews 6:18-19 So God has given both His promise and His oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to Him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary. (NLT)

Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.

Psalm 138:3 On the day I called, You answered me; You made me bold with strength in my soul.

I Thessalonians 5:24 Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
