We have the most wonderful visitors every day in our back yard. The first time we saw only one – a doe. She was unusual in that her front right leg was broken. The next few days passed and she showed up again to feast on the honeysuckle along the fence row. After a few minutes we noticed another doe visiting with her! Then we saw two baby fawns traveling behind that doe. We wondered about the crippled doe. Surely she would not have a baby because how could she make it with that leg the way it was? Yesterday evening our broken legged visitor appeared again. And wouldn’t you know it? She had a beautiful little spotted baby with her! Yes, our doe with the broken leg seems to be making it fine. She jumps fences, eats well and takes care of a baby.
Oh beloved, you may have experienced brokenness. Unlike the doe whose leg will remain broken her entire life, God is making you whole again! Even in the brokenness you can have a wonderful life. God knows exactly where that brokenness occurred – whether it’s a broken heart or a broken relationship and whether it was at the hands of another or in a tangled mess of your own making. And He still loves you. He says you have purpose, you have a calling and you are perfected in Him. Even if you feel broken, God is your Healer. He takes what’s happened and mends it with His Word. He carefully attends to you while you are healing, giving you safe places to rest and gain strength. He sees beyond the brokenness.
He knows your heart and He knows you have had much trouble, but He wants you to know that He is your answer. The grief of the broken places will be overcome by the joy of newness of life. Each day He gives you fresh anointing, new strength and daily blessings. You are more than just a cripple trying to make it. You are destined to run and jump and live and move in Him!
God loves you and He’s for you! The more you rejoice in God’s healing touch the less you will limp through life. It’s amazing what a touch from the Lord can do. He makes all things new! Including you! Just feast your eyes and rest your heart on the Savior and watch as you live triumphantly in the Light of His Glory and Grace.
