We met the nicest couple this past week when we went to look at some furniture she had for sale. Turns out they enjoy some of the same hobbies we do. We also had several friends in common. Most of all we found out that we all love the Lord and are seeking His best for our lives.
In her den she had done something with her fireplace I’ve always wanted to do. She had painted her bricks and put an antique mantle on it. Hers was almost identical to mine except I’ve not dressed mine up yet. She has a mantle and it sets it off. It makes all the difference for beauty and decoration to shine out in the room. It is a focal point.
I decided that I would find a mantle for my fireplace as well. As I googled the word mantle I was surprised that the first thing that came up was a definition. And the definition I saw was not that of the fireplace surround. Here is what I read about a mantle: a loose sleeveless cloak or shawl, worn especially by women; an important role or responsibility that passes from one person to another. I realized that although I had misspelled mantle (mantel) God had something to show me.
Oh beloved, God loves you too much to let you live a life without His influence. He wants to dress you up! His mantle makes all the difference. He covers you with His love, He fills you with His Holy Spirit and He watches over your life, anointing you with His role passed from Christ to you – for such a time as this! Isn’t this amazing? What a blessing! You are completely outfitted in all you will ever need to shine the love of Jesus in your sphere of influence. The Lord doesn’t just save you for heaven. No! He equips you for the here and now. God’s preparation is not confining. It’s freeing. God’s calling is important for you. He passes on His plans for you with holy preparation. You are important to the Kingdom in these last days. Whatever God is laying on your heart to do He will provide the spiritual and physical means to do it. Step into what He has given you and walk it out in faith. You don’t have to worry about your weaknesses, for it is God Who gives you strength and ability to do what He has anointed you to do.
God loves you and He’s for you. His mantle is on you. His blessing is for you. His ways are full of joy, peace and love. Rejoice in His calling as you live in the Light of His Glory and Grace!

Romans 11:29 For God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable. [He never withdraws them when once they are given, and He does not change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call.] Amplified
