This week’s forecast for our area has no mention of rain, not even 20 %. This is indeed a change in the atmosphere. We’ve dealt with rain at least once a week since fall. And with all the flooding we’ve had in the past weeks it seems weird not to have rain falling. We had grown used to the rain, the mud and the staying inside we’ve had to do. We had grown used to it.
We can grow used to the bad weather in our lives. It lasts so long, such a season of trouble, that pretty soon that’s the norm. At first we pray a lot for things to change, but eventually we just begin dealing with what we’ve got. After all, things aren’t changing and we’ve got to get some relief somehow. God has delayed answering the prayers and now we think He might not answer at all. The mucky mess of troubles is just what we have. We shrug our shoulders and say it is what it is.
Oh beloved, this morning God wants you to know that He is indeed still the God who changes the atmosphere. Keep praying. Keep watching for the rainbow. Keep looking to the skies for the Son to shine through. Regardless of how long you’ve dealt with the deluge of troubles in your marriage, with your children, on the job or wherever you might be having a flood, He is on the spot, speaking peace, covering you with His protection and working all things out for your good and His Glory. Your job is not to decide when God does or does not answer. Your job is to persevere in faith over your situation. Name it out loud and claim the Son of Righteousness over it all. Your marriage, your descendants, your jobs, or wherever the flood is rising. Jesus’ Name is above all names! Don’t let the enemy’s tactics wear you down in your faith. Yes, it’s rained and rained, you may feel like you’ve been in this mess for months, years or longer, but God says His plans for you are outstanding, magnificent and pure holy and true.
God loves you and He’s for you. He loves the things you care about. He knows your situation and He says to keep praying and look up – He is coming to right the wrongs, set free the captives and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord over your entire life. Don’t waste another tear thinking God has forgotten you. Don’t believe condemnation has any place in your life. Let God come into all your life and the enemy will have to scatter. Even if you’ve lost much in the flood, God is able to renew, restore and give fresh life, anointing and purpose to you. It’s time to speak the truth over yourself. Even your fellowship with the Lord sets the enemy to flight. You are wise in the Lord, you are strong in the power of His might, you are fit for the day of battle, and you are walking in the Light of His Glory and Grace!
