Five Minute Friday – BLUE

Out of the Blue…

We had a series of “booms” in our area about bedtime last night. It shook things up to say the least. It shook our house. Quickly word spread on social media of several different areas feeling the shocks.  We all wanted to know what it was. How did this happen? Who is the perpetrator? And of course, how can we avoid this happening again?

Out of the Blue…

Things happen in our lives that we didn’t see coming. We’re prepared for a good night’s sleep when out of the blue we get bad news. We’re prepared for a good life story when out of the blue there is a twist and we find ourselves unsettled. We want to know how this happened? The blame game comes into focus. Did we do something? Is God mad at us? Is someone against us? Who’s to blame? We want to know everything we can so we can avoid this same problem ever coming into our lives again.

Out of the Blue…

Christ comes in to settle our nerves. Just as He slept in the boat, The LORD is not agitated or unsettled by the “booms” in our lives. He says “Peace (you precious one, have My peace). Be still (you precious one, be still and know that I AM God). And the storms in our hearts are settled and we know that whatever comes our way God is with us.

Oh beloved, don’t be BLUE! Let God show you how TRUE He is to His Word! He has promised and He will deliver. Though all else is shaken including you, He will stand and because He stands with you, you too will stand. Rejoice in His promises and Rest in His Truth.

God loves you and He’s for you. Let that settle your nerves and quiet your heart because even if you don’t know a thing else, you can live in the Light of His Glory and Grace!

Acts 2:25 David said about him: “I saw the Lord always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.”

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”

    Rebeka,
    Great post.
I enjoyed reading your “out of the blue” take on today’s word prompt.
Thinking about your post and the phrase “out of the blue” it must refer to “from out of the sky”..and sky is often another word for “the heavens” or “heavenly”; a bit like the saying “an act of God” right? If that is the case {I have a thing for word origins can you tell?} then even that quaint colloquial saying, we say without thinking about, actually points back to the truth that everything that happens does so from His will or awareness.
    Have a great weekend,
    Cheers,
    Leah
