There are More Blessings than Hardships

We watched a movie based on a true story of two brothers protecting a thousand Jewish people during the holocaust. They kept them hidden in the woods for four years. It was not an easy four years. Often they had little to no food. The Nazi soldiers were everywhere. They had to go through horrendous conditions. They learned to fight and watch over one another as well. Those two brothers, Polish Jews themselves, never sought recognition for what they did, and the descendants of the people they saved now number in the tens of thousands.

Oh beloved, the storms are rolling through where I live this morning. Hard times and persecution may have rolled through your life. All through every situation of life you’ve been through God has taken you under His loving care and protected you in so many ways you may never see. Because of God’s everlasting care, even of your ancestors, you have hope. You did not arrive at where you are without providential oversight of the King of Kings. You may be going through a storm right now. You may wonder where is God? You may feel forsaken and unprotected but God never fails to be with those who have been born again. (And if you don’t know the LORD, He is heavily in pursuit of you always with His love.) He has literally kept you alive because you have purpose and significance in the Kingdom. Your purpose in life includes weathering storms, evading enemies and remaining hidden in Christ. There is more blessing in your simply waking up in the morning than there are hardships.

Even if things look bleak, the doctor report is daunting, the paycheck isn’t enough or the family member you love is far away – God is with you! You are growing in knowledge of the Lord and learning more about His faithfulness. His strength is your fortress. His name is your passport. His love is your storm shelter. All that He is remains even when you are at your weakest. Nothing you go through is meant to destroy you because God always gives you triumph. The enemy will never win in your life. He may try to make you feel like you are a hunted animal, but he is a lying liar. God is your Ever Present Help. Unlike the ragtag group of Jewish people, you don’t have to hide and dodge bullets and constantly be afraid of the enemy. You can stand tall no matter what comes your way and know that God is on your side.

God love you and He’s for you. Quit looking at the storm clouds or the enemy. You don’t have to be afraid or make things happen for yourself. You are part of a great army rising up in the world today to show forth the praises of God. Your destiny is not your trial or your storm. Your destiny is triumphant testimony to God’s everlasting love and care. Rejoice that He is with you, remind yourself this is not forever and rest in the knowledge that you are in a winning situation because you live in the Light and abide in the Savior always – no matter what might come your way.

Psalm 56:33-34 When I am afraid, I will put my trust in You. In God, whose word I praise, In God I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid. What can mere man do to me?

Ephesians 3:12 Because of Christ and our faith in Him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence. NLT

Acts 2:25 “For David says of Him, ‘I SAW THE LORD ALWAYS IN MY PRESENCE; FOR HE IS AT MY RIGHT HAND, SO THAT I WILL NOT BE SHAKEN.

Psalm 60:12 Through God we shall do valiantly, and it is He who will tread down our adversaries.

Psalm 44:5 Only by Your Power can we push back our enemies; only in Your Name can we trample our foes.

Ephesians 3:16 May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality].

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
