Tuesday @Ten: REST

My husband loves to rest his head on my shoulder.I too love to rest my head on his shoulder. Mutual rest is such a blessing. It takes a special willingness for us because life is so busy and many voices are calling us all the time.

Somehow we tend to see the cross as a stop sign. It’s actually a huge green light of welcome to enter into the Father’s Rest and then to live and move and have our being in Him.  Everyone can have this great gift, but no one can enter in without Christ who went to the Cross for us. Without REST there is no movement in the faith.

God goes on to let us know that this rest is mutual. We find rest from our weary sin sick lives in Him. Then He searches throughout the earth to see where His Glory can rest! He’s looking for us – ordinary women and men of God – who will abide in Him, rest in Him and let Him rest in Us!

Oh beloved, what wondrous relationship this is! Resting. Abiding. Glorifying. Living for His glory alone!

God loves you and He’s for you. Rest your case on Him. Rest your needs at the foot of the cross and leave them there! Move on through the Green Light of Salvation and watch as you grow in grace and knowledge. Abide, Rest, Believe and Receive. You are destined to be a dwelling place for God’s Glory as you live in the Light of All He is – which is all you will ever need!

Psalm 85:9 Surely His salvation is near to those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him, [and is ready to be appropriated] that [the manifest presence of God, His] glory may tabernacle and abide in our land. Amplified

Matthew 11:29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Psalm 116:7b Return to your rest, O my soul, For the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”

I also did the link up of rest. I love your post! If we are too busy there is no way we will be able to listen to God. We are called to be still and know God. So easy to forget!
