It was storming again early this morning. As I listened to the weatherman explaining the situation he mentioned my county. He said that even though it contains the worst storm cell in the state there is no warning with it. Quite a storm and quite noisy around here. We like to be prepared just in case the lights go out, so I have a candle burning.
Oh beloved, not every storm contains a warning before it hits. You may have had big plans for the day but the storm has arrived instead. You are not the victim of this storm no matter how intense it may be. You are just a victorious believer who is going to weather this new storm just as you have made it through all other storms in life. You may be thinking that it’s about time you don’t have to put up with storms anymore, but they are just a part of life. It’s not so much what comes your way as it is how you handle it that counts. Hunker down with the Lord. Let the Light of the Lord lead you through. You may need to set up camp but you don’t have to live in the storm. You may hear the disaster howling overhead, but you are sheltered safe in God. No weapon formed against you will prosper, not even the natural elements of this fallen world. Damage might occur around you but you don’t have to feel the effects of the damage. Let God give you courage to remain at peace with Him. Now is not the time to panic, or to place the blame or to curse the lightning and thunder, the wind or the hail. No storm lasts forever but people of faith do. You are a faithful follower not a fair weather fan. It’s easy to praise the Lord when things are sunny and warm and all the world is blooming and life is good. But praising Him in the storm is where your strength will be renewed. Hold on, God is with you. Rejoice, God is on your side.
God loves you and He’s for you – when the days are beautiful and even when the storms arrive. Nothing can separate you from the love of God – absolutely nothing. Write your name on a piece of paper this morning to remind yourself of your attributes – survivor, overcomer, warrior, interceder, praise and worshiper, believer, receiver, abider. You can overcome because Christ is with you all the days of your life!

2 Timothy 1:7 For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.
Psalm 112:7 He will not fear evil tidings; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD.
