Our oldest grandkids stayed with us the other night. The next morning it was time to wake our granddaughter up for work. I also had something to show her that I was very excited about. As I tried to show her the treasure she blinked her eyes and declared that she couldn’t see yet: “my eyes aren’t awake”. She continued rubbing her eyes and trying to focus. It took a while.
Eyes of faith don’t just happen. We don’t always see everything clearly right away. First we blink at the amazing grace we are born again into. Then we blink again as we begin to hear what God has planned for us. His love causes us to rub our eyes and we think surely not me. Our eyes of faith aren’t all the way awake yet. But as we continue in the faith, learning God’s Word, believing it for ourselves the “eyes of our understanding” are open!
Oh beloved, you are loved! You are cherished! You are cared for! You are full of faith! God’s abilities include giving sight to the blind and clear sight to you as you walk in faith with Him. He won’t take you where you don’t need to go. Though it may seem at times that can’t see clearly where you are being led by Him, you can be assured that God will open your eyes to His wonderful plans for you.
God loves you and He is for you! Let your eyes feast on those facts and watch as your life becomes a living epistle of Agape love and Provisional care. Don’t look away in doubt, but look closely at God’s Word instead. You are called to taste and SEE what the Lord has done for you and to live it out in His glory and grace!
Romans 1:20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see His invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. NLT
Psalm 11:7 For the LORD is righteous, He loves righteousness; The upright will behold His face.
I John 3:1 See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
Psalm 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD is good! How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!
