Old windows from hundred year old houses are used for crafts and decorations these days. They can fetch a good price. The way you can tell if window glass is original is the distortions in it. The same is true for mirrors. If they are really old they have distortions in them as well. The distortion is enough that both the view of yourself in a mirror and the view outside from a window in old houses and furniture is a little distorted. Sometimes more so.
Our view of life can get distorted. We see ourselves and all our mistakes and we make an unfair assessment of ourselves. We look at the world and we see more distortion. The world is not always pretty and good and fair. If we only look with our natural eyes we will only get a view in the natural or the flesh.
You need the Word of God applied to your view of yourself! As you look in the mirror through the Word of God you see yourself forgiven, chosen and right, with a clean and clear future. Forgiveness through the Blood of Christ smooths out the distortions and helps us see ourselves as God sees us. The same is true with the life you have. Imperfections abound in your world. Some are things brought on by people who didn’t walk in the spirit but rather the flesh. Other distortions are because the world is fallen.
Oh beloved, you are so precious to God. Even in all your imperfections, God sees you as perfected. Each morning God applies fresh mercy so that you can see yourself as He sees you. It’s time to apply the Word to any distortion we see and the Word will clean up lies, strongholds, addictions, shame and anything that is holding you back from seeing the truth about yourself. The world may have its troubles, but He sends you to apply His good news to everything you see. Lots of things may be going wrong in your life, but God is smoothing it all out for your good and His glory.
God loves you and He’s for you. Apply those truths to what you see in the flesh. Look beyond the natural and into the supernatural as you learn to live in the Light of His glory and grace. Even when you feel you don’t deserve it, grace is applied to your heart and your life so that you can see clearly the forgiveness and blessings you live in all the days of your life.
