We Were Meant to Soar!

All the grandkids got Valentine’s Day balloons. Filled with helium they had to be held tightly onto so that they wouldn’t float away into the atmosphere. All except Blake’s. His was not so full. I really thought it was the cold weather, so I placed it over the heater. Even though the balloon and its contents got warmer, it never did expand. It never did float as high as the others. Stella left hers here last week and it’s still resting on the ceiling full of helium and ready to fly as high as it can go.

The helium was the same for all balloons because they came from the same place. The balloons were alike as well. Obviously Blake’s had a leak. We tried to find it, but it was so tiny that it was imperceptible to the naked eye. But the leak was enough that there was no way it would ever ascend to the heights.

You and I were meant to soar! When we were born again we were filled with Holy Spirit power! We were given all the provision we need for every season of our life. No string was meant to hold us down! Yet God speaks to our hearts. A small leak in faith and virtue can keep the strongest from soaring. All any of us will ever need is found in the Lord. We are not meant to live a half ascended, half deflated, self-defeated life!  We can try to fix things or make it happen on our own, but no matter what we do life will remain crumpled and less useful. Our power can never replace the power of Holy Spirit.  Only He can heal the leaks in our lives.

Oh beloved, God’s ways bring God’s provisions. Run to your Father God this morning and ask Him to fix it for you! Return to His power! Adjust your life to His ways! He knows what you’ve been through. But every unforgiveness, every fear, every wrong desire deflates the believer’s life. These things lessen the power of God to take us up to His level. Lay aside those things that are holding you down, quit rehearsing what others have done, quit letting the enemy recount your past mistakes. Instead concentrate fresh and new on your Savior and get alone with Him. Time in His presence will refill you and fix all the little leaks that might try to keep you earth bound.  Nothing is worth losing the filling, anointing empowerment of God!

God loves you and He’s for you. It’s time to rise to new heights with Him.  He wants this for you –  so run boldly to the throne of grace for fresh infilling and restoration. Others will see you soaring and come to find out how they too can be rid of their crumpled lives. Rejoice that God has a plan to use your brokenness to heal and help others be set free! The empowerment you receive will be from God and will equip and restore you for greater heights than ever before as you live in the Light of His glory and grace.

Hosea 12:6 Therefore, return to your God, Observe kindness and justice, And wait for your God continually.

Psalm 51:17 The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God. NLT

Ezekiel 36:27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances.

2 Corinthians 3:17  Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (emancipation from bondage, freedom).

Romans 8:14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.

About Rebekah Beene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
