Keep. What a lovely word. The dictionary says of keep that it means to continue or cause to continue in a specified condition, position, course.
Mothers say:”If you keep that up…” threatening a serious response.
Fathers at the televised ballgame, intent on watching might say “keep quiet!”
Keep your voices down. Keep your coats on. Keep moving. All denote a temporary allowance but not forever.
Yet God says “I will keep you as the apple of My eye”. “I will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed on Me”. “Keep knocking, keep asking, keep seeking.”
I think God says this morning, keep walking towards Me, keep seeking Me, keep headed for Me. I will keep you on the course I have for you. I promise you will never lose your position as a child of Mine. Your salvation, justification and future glorification are a condition I have placed you in by GRACE. Keep knowing My truth.
Oh beloved, keep learning about God and leaning on Jesus for everything. He’s already promised to keep you! Isn’t that beautiful? Keep believing God as you continue to live in the light of His Glory and Grace!
Isaiah 26:3 You [LORD] will keep in perfect peace all who trust in You, all whose thoughts are fixed on You!
Jude 1:24-25 Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.
