It’s His Plan not Ours

This morning God brings something to my heart. I am an office manager. My main job is to make those who I serve in the office look good. We talk and there is discussion about what needs to get done and how it’s going to be done, but it’s not me directing the flow for the bosses. I adapt to them in many instances. It’s not my job to keep my boss on task. It’s not my job to give him instructions on what to do and where to go. Yes, I do ask for things, but I don’t give him deadlines or badger him about his work load. Can you imagine the stress and conflict that would cause if I did that?

Now imagine our walk of faith. We talk with the Lord. He talks with us. It’s not our job to tell God what to do or to give Him deadlines to accomplish our will. Prayer is a conversation with the King. We are not the king. We are servants of the most High God. It’s His good pleasure to lead us. It’s our benefit to follow His leading. We adapt to His will in everything. Yes there are things we ask God for, but if we choose to badger Him we are no longer at peace. Conflict in our faith walk arises and there is trouble in our hearts. God has a plan. We are part of that plan, an integral part, but it’s His plan. He answers our prayers in His way, in His timing, and in the best outcome for His glory. But He loves it when we walk in sync with Him, trusting Him every step of the way.

Oh beloved, God knows the things you have need of. He understands that your life is complicated and your days are full. He is with you as you deal with turmoil, chaos and even when you have pain. You’ve been very busy trying to make it all work out. You may have even resorted to praying in short order style, just trying to get the Lord to do what needs done in your life. But God wants more. He wants to develop a relationship with you. He wants you to get to know Him, His character, His nature and His ways. In getting to know God better, you will be able to see the way He sees. You need discernment not more than ever, for decisions must be made on your part. Your job is to display the glory of God by walking so close with Him that you know what He wants and you accomplish His will with joy and peace. Intercession is part of it, where you pour your heart and needs out to your heavenly Father. But still there is one Father and one Lord and He knows best. He created the universe and He created you. He can be trusted to do His best on your part. As you learn to trust Him you will be able to do your best on His part.

God loves you and He’s for you. This rich relationship is so much more wonderful than any other relationship you will ever have. Nothing can compare to the joy of being a born again believer who has put their faith and life in the Lord’s hands. Christ is your mediator and He lives to intercede for all your needs. Run to His Word this morning and see – no one who trusts in God is ever left desolate. Rejoice as you walk in loving agreement with the One Who has given Himself for you. Cultivate your relationship with Him and thank Him for having a magnificent plan for you to accomplish His will and His glory through your life!

I Corinthians 10:31 Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

I Peter 4:11 Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

I Thessalonians 2:4 For we speak as messengers approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News. Our purpose is to please God, not people. He alone examines the motives of our hearts. NLT

Philippians 4:6-7 Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Amplified

Isaiah 12:2 Behold, God, my salvation! I will trust and not be afraid, for the Lord God is my strength and song; yes, He has become my salvation!

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
