Stepping on Up!

We had a great couple of days with dear friends in faith. As they walked up our steps into our house I laughingly said that I had asked Danny why we bought a house with so many steps to the front door. He responded that we were much younger when we bought the house. Those steps were nothing 20 years ago. Today they can be daunting.

Not so with the life of faith. When we’re young in Christ, we have a honeymoon period where everything is going wonderful. Then the growth begins and we have to learn to step up to the call. We’re not sure at first how we can make it. The heights of training seem impossible. We won’t make it! But by faith we try, we rely on God and we DO make it. By the time we’re seasoned believers, maturing in the faith, we know we can do it. Whatever comes our way we speak faith over it, we hold God’s hand through it and we remember the Word in it. The trials don’t get easier, but the faith to make it up and onward does get easier. It becomes second nature to us. We begin to see that not only are we making it, we can share with younger in the faith or those with less stability that they too can make it through Christ.

Oh beloved, don’t count your steps to the door of your faith! Count your faith to the door of your victory! God has already given you the abundant life. He’s already proven to you that He can save you. If He can make you right in His sight by GRACE, then of course He can get you where you need to be by GRACE. The faith life is full of stair steps higher and higher into His presence. What seems so hard to navigate for you is really a light thing for the Lord. He’s saying to you this morning, don’t worry, don’t fret, don’t live with regret, just press on into Me. I AM your strength and I will give you rest along the way. There may be a higher calling than you can muster on your own but I AM the one who calls you. I will cause even the regretful things of your life to be magnificent stepping stones in your walk of faith. Keep walking. Keep praising. Keep resting in Me. God knows what you’ve been dealing with. God knows your every hardship. God was with you when you felt left alone in your climb towards Him. Don’t stop now! Press in closer, reach out higher, ask for more! Keep your eyes on the victory for the door of your faith is right ahead. You can make it and you will be victorious always as long as you look to the Lord and let Him lead you step by step.

God loves you and He’s for you. The more you rest in Him the higher you will traverse. Your troubles will all pass away but Christ will triumph for you all the days of your life. You are a victorious warrior climber and He will make your feet like hind’s feet for all your days as you walk in the Light of His glory and grace!

Habakkuk 3:19 The Lord GOD is my strength, And He has made my feet like hinds’ feet, And makes me walk on my high places.

Deuteronomy 33:29 Blessed are you, Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the LORD? He is your shield and helper and your glorious sword. Your enemies will cower before you, and you will tread on their heights.

Psalm 18:32 It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.

Romans 9:16 It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God’s mercy.

2 Corinthians 5:7 for we walk by faith, not by sight

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
