Keep Going Where God Sends You!

I woke up to another weather advisory on my phone. It seems we have a slight chance for snow or sleet this morning. Arkansas weather is unpredictable and interesting to say the least. We were relieved when we woke up last Sunday morning to no ice on the roads. As we got in the car and headed for church we saw that the tops of the trees were dusted white with icy rain. The closer we got to the church the icier the trees appeared. Obviously we were getting into worse weather than we had when we started out. We knew that since we had made it that far, we might as well go on. It turned out that although the trees were more laden with ice, the roads were still passable. We enjoyed fellowship at church and an afternoon of fellowship with friends that lasted until after dark.

We often think that the road God sends us on will be easy. We see a little trouble here and there, but we’re excited for the trip. Thinking that it could only get EASIER, we travel on. Sometimes we notice the weather is getting worse. We begin to think that we should turn around, go back to our starting point or forget the trip entirely. He called us in love, now where is the good old feelings we had at the outset? Dare we trust the One who called us to go down this road? Was He mistaken, did He leave us, have we done something wrong?

Oh beloved, keep going where God sends you! Jesus is ahead of you, angels surround you, heaven is applauding every turn you make. Although the entire trip may seem insecure, unstable or downright treacherous, you are not going in the flesh! You are traveling a Spirit led road with a Spirit filled mind and heart! Yes, there will be icy spots and hard curves. Potholes may abound. But you’re not headed for the hardships, you’re heading THROUGH them! You’re not born to count the troubles; you were born to recount the faithful acts of God throughout your life. Keep going beloved. The end is near and the reward awaits you. Don’t worry what pops out at you from the side of the road God has you on. They’re a mere illusion of attack meant to destroy your testimony and make you shrink back in unbelief. You are a believer – you put your trust in Christ, you advocate God’s promises, you support God’s will, you’re a follower of God’s Word and your destiny is secure. Nothing that approaches you along the way can stop you for you are sealed in the Blood of the Lamb. The robe of righteousness never leaves your shoulders and the Word of God is your only weapon – it will dig you out of every ditch, keep you out of every temptation and set you on the high road to all the blessings of God.

God loves you and He’s for you. The same Lord who called you to His Salvation is the same God who will get you where you need to go. Kneel in His presence, rise in His authority, ride in His provision and complete your faith journey in the light of His Glory and Grace!

I Thessalonians 5:25 Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.

Joshua 1:9 This is my command–be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.

Isaiah 41:10 Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

I Corinthians 1:9 God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
