I was reading an article…
on camera lenses. The photos in the article were beautiful. One picture that caught my eye was one where the photographer took a photo of a beautiful field. The photographer’s feet, in red tennis shoes, were in the bottom of the frame. The caption read, “Through the right lens you have the power to see a whole new world.”
God spoke to my heart. He reminded me that in life we are to look at everything through the lens of His Word. The focus should not be on us. We make mistakes, find fault, become bitter, wish we could change things. We get life out of focus. We major on the minors and tend to magnify our own flaws. Other times we focus on milestones in life that keep us depressed and disappointed. Whether it’s being an empty nester or find rejection in a long time relationship. Then there’s the lens of the world – always saying do more, be more, pursue self, live for yourself.
Oh beloved, through the right lens God will give you the power to see a whole new world! You’re not perfect, none of us are. That’s why we have a Redeemer! He takes everything in the scene of our life and redeems it – He emancipates us from our own destruction! As you let God refocus your attention away from self and onto Him, you will begin to see things much brighter and more hopeful. By refocusing you transfer your life to His. Once you begin to see things through His view finder, everything changes. Disappointment becomes His appointment. Rejection becomes simply a repositioning for His glory. Everything else fades into the background when you look at life through the lens of His Word. It’s time to drop the things that tie you down, give you regrets and hurt your heart. You focus on being unworthy; God refocuses on you in the light of His own worthiness. His lens is TRUTH. Your lens is clouded by self and the enemy. His lens is clear and bright and perfect. This life of Christ that you now live has to refocus daily on God’s love and mercy and grace for you to see good pictures of great times ahead.
God loves you and He’s for you. He wants to give you the power through His Spirit, to see a whole new world every morning! Get rid of the photos that keep playing of your losses, your mistakes, your regrets. Instead focus on God Himself and let Him love you through the hard times and give you fresh focus – anointing – for the days ahead. Regardless of what you may face, God makes all things new. Regardless of your regrets, He redeems and refocuses every single detail. He does this so that you can live a life free of burdens and focused on His plans for your life. As you live and breathe and praise and pray this morning, don’t forget to thank Him for the lens of His Word and your mind that is set on Him and His love for the rest of your life!
Colossians 3:2 Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.
Romans 8:5 For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
Philippians 3:13-14 Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Psalm 139:16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in Your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.
