Our family has had its share of colds and ear infections and the crud. I don’t know about you but I just don’t have time for it! There are many things to do and I want to enjoy every get together and every gift hunt and all the prep and ceremony of this season. Although this cold makes you feel the urge to just lay down and nap there are things to do that can’t be put off. Sometimes the sicknesses of the season just seem to come and stay. We long for spring and sunshine with warm weather.
You’ve had your share of sickness haven’t you? Some of it has been physical, other things are more spiritual like sorrow, fear, depression. You feel the urge to stay home, to give up, to pout and feel sorry for yourself and feel sad for the life you are presently living. It’s rough and nobody else seems to realize just how rough it really is. You’ve tried talking with friends, trusted confidantes and more, but the feeling of lethargy and malaise just hangs on. You’re dissatisfied with the outcome so far, but you’re not sure what else you can do.
Oh beloved, this is your shining hour! This is your moment on the stage to rehearse God’s wonders in the midst of all your troubles. It’s time to rejoice! No other antidote will do. No other panacea ever works. Your King is coming and He will find you worshiping Him with praise and honor and glory. He has healing in His wings and He is your Comforter, Counselor, Mighty God and Everlasting Father. He will give you just what you need for what ails you. Rise up and sing the praises of God. You may feel foolish but you will soon feel like you’re flourishing. Start today and thank Him that as you praise Him the enemy must scatter. The enemy and his trouble making cannot linger where the praises of God abound.
God loves you and He’s for you. This present trouble isn’t your outcome, it’s just what you are going through. With the Holy Spirit’s help and the Lord’s promises you are destined to be full of joy and see the answers come through. Rejoice greatly for you are a daughter (or son) of Zion, you are the King’s own beloved child and He is the Lord of Heaven and Earth!
Zechariah 9:9 “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is He, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey”.
1 Timothy 1:17 All honor and glory to God forever and ever! He is the eternal King, the unseen one who never dies; He alone is God. Amen.
Luke 1:46-47 Mary responded, “Oh, how my soul praises the Lord. How my spirit rejoices in God my Savior!
Psalm 145:2 Every day I will bless You, And I will praise Your name forever and ever!
Psalm 103:1 Bless the LORD, O my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name.
