We have a cabinet full of coffee cups. Not all of them were ours originally. Quite a few of them were my parents’ cups. Some are delicate china, others are heavy ceramic mugs. Some are small, others are large. The grandkids have their favorites. They drink special coffee from their little coffee cups. Some cups were gifts on special days and others we just found along the way on trips. I tend to choose the cups that have the message I like on them. Lately my favorite mug to drink from has been the Happy Happy Happy mug, bright red, that we got from Duck Dynasty. Nothing like a great morning message to drink from for the day’s reminder.
Oh beloved, what are you drinking from these days? Are you drinking from the cup of God’s delights for you? Are you choosing the message that builds you up and gives you peace and joy in God’s promises? Or have you been drinking from disappointment, worry, fear, and dread? Maybe you’ve chosen the wrong message. Condemnation, anger, worthlessness… As a believer you don’t have to choose those mugs or drink from those sources. Your Father in Heaven has plenty of good words stored in the cabinet of His heart. Choose wisely what you partake of and what you read about yourself each morning. The enemy will give you a cup of bitterness and tempt you to keep torn up about things you can do nothing about. But the Lord’s cups are faith, hope, love, forgiveness, gentleness, holiness and more. His cups are tasty and healthy for your heart and mind and soul. Whatever you drink from in the morning will be your reminder for the day. So choose wisely. Read what lines up with the Word of God especially for yourself.
God loves you and He’s for you. Drink from the cup of the Lord’s delights for you and about you. He will never ask you to keep fresh those things He has forgiven. He will never bring up old hurts or disappointments. His choicest cup for you is the cup of Salvation where all things are made new, including you! Rejoice as you drink and drink from His magnificent love and care and you live in the light of His glory and grace!
Psalm 116:13 I shall lift up the cup of salvation and call upon the name of the LORD.

Psalm 23:5 You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings.
Psalm 31:19 How great is the goodness You have stored up for those who fear You. You lavish it on those who come to You for protection, blessing them before the watching world.
Psalm 36:8 They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house; And You give them to drink of the river of Your delights.
