Five Minute Friday – DEAR

It’s that time of year. Flurry. Hurry. Scurry. Worry. I’ve been on the assault myself. The toy just right for our littlest granddaughter has eluded me. I purchased it on Ebay. Paid more than it was worth – or did I? LOL   Now just hoping it gets mailed and I find it in my hands quickly!

“Oh Dear!” denoting a feeling of exasperation and weariness. Heard in the Disney movies, heard on the street corners, heard in the kitchens across America.

The dictionary defines the word dear as denoting regard with deep affection; cherished by someone.  expensive, costly, high-priced.

But God calls us dear. This call of God, so loving and soothing bids us to quieten our hearts and minds and sit with Him in peace and comfort.

“My dear children…” Galatians 4:19 NIV

“God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved…” Colossians 3:12 NIV

“for the Father himself loves you dearly…”  John 16:27

And the Words of such blessing…”And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.” Romans 5:5

Oh beloved, rest with the LORD a while this day. Let Him infuse you with His love as He calls you dear and that you are. Dear to His heart. He left heaven for you. His gifts are all yours including peace of mind and heart. Go with it. Rest in it. Rejoice about it.

Live in the light of His Glory and Grace!

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”

It is beautiful that God loves us and that we will always have someone in our lives that calls us “dear”.
