We gather together to ask the Lord’s blessings. That’s the song that comes to mind as I recall the first time I heard that tune and learned the words was in SCHOOL of all places. Back in the day when God was just a part of everyday life everywhere.
Gathering reminds me to bundle up the needful things. There’s not room for everything, so you’ll have to make sure you take the necessities but leave the fluff.
As I gather my courage I find that I must drop fear, worry, anxiety and dread. They cannot fit. God won’t let them. We have gathered His courage for our dis-courage and that’s that.
I go on to gather information. But not just gossip. No I want God’s information. I want to be on the inside, in the know and completely in tune with Him. I’ve tried gathering facts, gathering flittering snippets of stuff. None of that helps. The Word of God is the one thing that I can gather without worrying about leaving anything behind.
I gather what I love. Gather my husband up in my arms and thank God for him daily. At our age you could say we’re living on borrowed time. For sure there are less days before us than behind us. Gather your children – every blessed one of them, every blessed chance you get. They are only here for us for a while. Gather those grandchildren and put their giggles in a bottle. You’ll need to recall them for joy in the midst of pain.
Gather my prayers before the Throne of God. Talking to Him is like having a conversation with my best friend. You know, the one who stands with you and by you and stands up for you no matter what. That’s My God. That’s My Lord. What a Savior and Friend.
I gather by now that you’ve figured out to gather the important thing and let other things go. You are valuable to God so He gathered you into His arms before you were born and knew your name. Now He’s gathering your heart up to His healing wings and and sending you His love and salvation.
Psalm 106:47 Save us, O Lord our God! Gather us back from among the nations, so we can thank Your holy name and rejoice and praise You.
We do indeed, Lord, gather together to ask for Your Blessings! Don’t forget us. Heal us and we will be healed as we gather ourselves back to You.
