Is That A Crown?

He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. (‭Psalms‬ ‭103‬:‭4‬ NLT)

Our little Stella completed a first for anyone in our immediate family. She participated in  a pageant. Not only did she participate, she won! Not only did she win, she won two crowns. One for being queen of her age group and the other for being most photogenic. And she won a banner for having the most beautiful eyes. We were thrilled, to say the least that the pageant judges agree with us – that she is a winner.  She wowed the crowd several times with her sweet little responses to questions and she was just being her natural self.  It was just a small pageant, but Stella seemed to take to it like a duck to water.

We know that in life, not everyone wins first place or receives a crown or trophy. Someone wins and someone loses. Sometimes it’s hard to lose. We think that if we lose anything, we are to blame. We wonder what we could have done differently. But the fact is rejection comes and being passed over is part of the great scheme of things. Do we stomp our feet and demand action?  Do we throw a tantrum and refuse to move on? Do we mourn and hurt and nurse the grudge and hope that “karma” kicks in? Or do we look to God for the activity of the Holy Spirit to work those things, even the most hurtful occurrences, out for our good and His glory? Can we let God do what only He can do? The only alternative is to get angrier, more frustrated, live in sorrow or rehearse the pain over and over again. And that’s not living.

Oh beloved, you are in a perfect position to win no matter what. You are seated in heavenly places in Christ! You are set to gain a crown of righteousness from Him. You have ransomed by the Lord and are wearing a crown of joy. Your sash says Redeemed, Beloved, Sealed, Victorious, Precious, Purchased, and Honored. God sees in you what others may not see and that is the winner you really are. The things you have gone through – the trials, the disappointments, the hurts – all these things are working together to make your life an offering to God and a sweet aroma in the world. Nothing is wasted with God. Nothing is needed – not the right clothes, not the right job, not the right friends, not money nor fame. You are perfected and positioned in Christ to be a winner. Your victor’s crown awaits you as you live in the Light of God’s Word. Despite all the things that go on to distract you and cause you to run from the stage of life, you will go forth in blessings and honor and be a glorious example of God’s Glory and grace.

God loves you and He’s for you. The stage is set and the crown is made ready. Behold the Lamb, who has considered you of great worth – so much that He went to the cross so that you could live blessed and highly favored all the days of your life. Walk with your head held high, walk in an attitude of prayer, walk in the appointments God has given you and rejoice that you will win for the battles you face belong to the Lord!

Isaiah 35:10 Those who have been ransomed by the Lord will return. They will enter Jerusalem singing, crowned with everlasting joy. Sorrow and mourning will disappear, and they will be filled with joy and gladness.

I Peter 5:4 And when the Great Shepherd appears, you will receive a crown of never-ending glory and honor.

Psalm 103:4 He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies.

Romans 15:17 Therefore in Christ Jesus I have found reason for boasting in things pertaining to God.

I Corinthians 1:30 But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption.

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
