Trust is the Word – God is the Provider

Yesterday was one of those days. It started off with a great visit with friends at a church in a nearby town. Then it was off to a visit in intensive care at one of the hospitals in Little Rock. Then we checked on a grandson who was feeling bad. Lastly we got another call for an emergency room visit with someone we knew. You could say lots of emergency visits, but also lots of prayer calls. Danny opened the service at our friend’s church with prayer. We prayed with folks all day. Emergency after emergency was met with prayer. Emergencies aren’t the most pleasant way to pass the time. But God was with us and with our friends every step of the way.

You may be facing an emergency of your own. You’ve been dealing with the issues of life and they’ve just gotten worse and worse. You’ve been taught that God helps those who help themselves so you’ve been trying to hold it together on your own. But the pain has gotten worse and the worry has overtaken you.

Oh beloved. Now’s the time to call on the Lord! Don’t wait. Don’t hesitate. He’s never late, He always answers and the emergency room is never too full for Him to take care of everything you’re dealing with. You don’t have to wait in line, hope for a better report or live in the despair of the moment. God is with you! Even when you can’t imagine it, He’s there. Even before you call on Him He’s answering your every need. Today is a good day to talk to Him about your troubles and give Him the chance to talk to you about His answers. You don’t have to hold up on your own, you don’t have to be strong enough. You just have to rely on Him completely. Your pain is His opportunity to show His glory in your life. Your emergency is His chance to showcase His mighty power and His care. You may have to go through this valley episode, but God has guaranteed that he will be with you every step of the way.

God loves you and He’s for you. His Word is your book of knowledge, prepared for such a time as this in your life. Prayer is your link to His guidance. Trust is the issue and He’s always trustworthy. You don’t have to worry about a misdiagnosis or a wrong answer. Let Him give you the strength you need and the Balm of Gilead for your wounded situation. You will walk through to God’s best for your life. You will see His hand work it all out for your good and His glory.

Psalm 56:3 But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in You.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.

Psalm 62:7-8 On God my salvation and my glory rest; The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God. Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us.

Psalm 23:4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

I Chronicles 16:11 Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face continually.

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
