Let God Into Your Whole Life

Just after dark there was a quiet knock at our front door. I answered the door and flipped on the porch light to find a woman standing there with a folder. As I cautiously opened our glass door she began to talk non stop. She said her boss sent her to find people to let her clean something in their house. With each name she got she got points towards a vacation to New Orleans. I told her no thank you but I also told her about Jesus, who can clean up the worst of messes in a person’s life. She stared blankly at me and left. As she walked to the end of the drive, someone came along in a truck to pick her up. Since she had mentioned a neighbor by name, I tried to call them and Danny drove down the street to check on them. The neighbor was fine but told me they had a hard time getting rid of the lady and the man.  I couldn’t believe that they had let this stranger in their house and then the man who was with her.

There are occasional knocks at the door of our lives. A stranger is there who wants to gain entrance to our hearts and minds. Truth be told, we’ve all fallen for his lying tactics at one time or another. The boss indeed has something that he wants to sell us. If we buy, we are in for a load of trouble. The things he offers won’t work, are bogus and will give us far more misfortune than it’s worth. The price is too high and the return is nil. If we let him in he will wreak havoc in every area of our lives.

Oh beloved,God doesn’t want to sell you a thing. He gives you freely everything you will ever need. Feeling less than perfect? He gives you perfection. Feeling worthless? He sends a boatload of His grace. Wishing you could change your past? He gives freely complete redemption. He knocks on the door of your heart and offers to take all your burdens, your mistakes, your hidden things and make it all brand new! You are precious, oh so precious to God. He made a way for all your needs to be met in Christ. Imperfection means nothing to God – for when He looks at you He sees absolute perfection. Quickly let God in! Let Him into your heart, into your life, into your troubles, into your past, into your fears and your worries and your less than’s. He’s already working everything out for your good and His glory. You don’t have to get ready, fix yourself up or wait until you’re worthy. Just answer the Lord’s call.

God loves you. You beloved. The real you. The unmanicured, unkempt, undone you. He’s for you as well. The you who can’t make it in and of yourself. The you who wants to change things and do it all better. He’s with you for the long haul. He’s at the door keeping the enemy out and welcoming you into fellowship with Him all the days of your life!  Embrace the freedom and shut the door to the enemy and live loved all the days of your life!

Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.

2 Peter 1:3 By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the one who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence.

2 Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.

Psalm 145:13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion endures through all generations. The LORD is trustworthy in all He promises and faithful in all He does.  NIV

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
