Never Ruined Always Redeemed!

Isaiah 43:25

The 60’s was my favorite clothing era. Wearing two different colored hose on each leg, madras shirts that changed colors when you washed them, Twiggy style dresses and fish net stockings were so much fun.  It was the era I went from tomboy to teenager. Learning to wear makeup was fun as well. I still remember the night I was getting ready to go to some event with friends. I must have been about 13. I had put on a brand new dress for the first time – a brown and white polka dot with a baby doll neckline made of some delicate thin material lined in brown satin. I sat there putting on makeup when I dropped it in my lap. To my horror the makeup spilled onto the new dress! It wasn’t a big spot, so Mother worked hard to clean up that lovely dress. In the end there was a faded spot where she had rubbed. Brand new dress, never worn, and I had to change. That special dress could never be worn again. One slip and it was ruined forever.  I really messed up and to this day I can remember every moment of it.

We try so hard to look good and yet life has its messes. Things get dropped in our laps. We spill things. Our hearts are grieved because life gets soiled. Try as we might, the spot remains. Sometimes others tell us it will remain forever, we have no choice but to live with it. Many times we feel that our mistakes are like a huge spot on our clothes – rub as we might, apply whatever we can find – and it remains. We believe we’re doomed to live a life of less than because we have messed up.   One slip and we’re doomed forever.

Oh beloved, God wants you to know that He was there when you slipped up. He was there when your life got soiled and spotted with mistakes and regrets. He knows you wish you could go back and change some things. He knows you wish for better, but you feel you’re doomed to every mistake you’ve ever made. Don’t throw your life away because of regrets. He speaks His love Words over you and He’s wooing you to come and sit with Him. He knows how to remove every spot and wrinkle. He knows how to prepare you to be His bride. He’s got it all covered, your past regrets, your future fears of messing up again and your present life situations. Give Him it all. Hold nothing back from Him. Christ went to the cross so that your messes could be redeemed. He suffered the shame so you wouldn’t have to. He came out of the grave so you could escape the grave clothes of life. Rejoice this morning that you are more than the spots on your life. You are more than the mistakes you’ve done and the ones that have been done to you. I could never wear that dress again, but God has clothed you in His righteousness and dances over you with joy. You are the apple of His eye and the love of His life.

God loves you and He’s for you. So quit lamenting what can’t be changed and live in the light of His glory and grace! You are a magnificent picture of all Christ has done for us all and He wants you to look not at the spots He doesn’t even remember, but look to Him, the Author and Perfector of your faith! Quit walking in your mess and begin to walk in the liberty and Truth of God!  He’s calling you to the party and He will be your Escort all the days of your life.

Psalm 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

Isaiah 43:25 I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake, And I will not remember your sins.

Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the LORD, “Though your sins are as scarlet, They will be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They will be like wool.

Ephesians 5:26-27 so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless.

Ephesians 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace (which He lavished on us).

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
